Replacing carpet on 95 with seat reinforcement bar
Does anyone else have a 95 XJ that has those seat reinforcement bars on the floor pan? I was looking to put new carpet in but all the stores I find only have the bar showing on models 97 and up. Would I just be able to use the carpet molded for a 97 and have it fit the same?

I am in the same boat. 1995 2-door. A 1996 4-door I saw had the crossmember as well, but a 1994 4-door did not. So weird, as carpets sold for 84-96 are all flat in that seat area.

I see that now. It is interesting, though, how both the Mopar AND aftermarket websites all list carpets as either from 84-96 or 97-01. Maybe there was some gray area for 95-96 where some models got the seat crossmember and others did not? My only guess is that there were several manufacturing plants making these XJs at that time, and they had slightly different specs, and suppliers as well.

I know 95 was a bastard year for ZJs, but I wasn't aware it extended to XJs as well. There you have it. Is that when Chrysler bought them?
