Im looking into replacing my battery cables on my 87 Cherokee, and was wondering for some help. from what i've read its a pretty simple job for the ground. now my problem is what has been done to my positive terminal. ive added pictures. Are these wire caps all holding the same wire ? and the wire with fuse on it heads under my battery towards my headlight fixture on my passenger side. where should i even begin to start tracing ? im no electrician by far, and would hate to ruin anything digging around and bumping wires. i understand were all on the same page and no one is going to have an exact answer but anything would help trying to figure this out.

the orange wire with the fuse just seems to disappear towards the headlights. the red and black wires screwed into the terminals go to a pair of spot lights so i know thouse.

Wow, maybe you should check with a local U-pull salvage yards and find out if they have 87 - 90 XJ (with still intact original factory wiring) for you to compare with and perhaps buy pieces from?
