Default replacement wheel cylinder on 1998 looks/feels to big to fit

I am replacing wheel cylinder on 1998 Classic and the replacement cylinder is bigger than original. See pics.

Doesn't seem to fit without taking drums apart.

Do I have wrong part?

Thanks

Can't see for sure but I think you have wheel cylinders for 10" Brakes at the top and 9" at the bottom. Jeeps came with both. Appears Police Versions and fleet type more likely to have 10". Ways to tell. 10" drums are finned. 9" are not. Wheel cylinders for 10" have the brake line going in at an angle. There is a separate part # for left and right. 9" the brake line goes straight in. Same part # for both sides. Of course I could be wrong.

Looks like you got the wrong ones based on where the hole is for the brake line.

Ummmmmm... yes.

Modern day parts counter jockeys have only the computer to rely on, always take your old parts along to prevent a million return trips.
