Which replacement seats?
Well I have the same problem that all of us eventually have.
My drivers seat has a broken pan & the cloth is pretty bad.
I thought it would helpful to get some feedback from fellow members that have replaced their seats with some fresh junkyard seats.
If anyone wants to reply, please list the truck name & year range (i.e., 99-04 grand Cherokee), & any issues or modifications that were necessary.
Thank you.

Go to the junkyard and get a good used passenger side cushion/bucket from the same vintage Jeep. 4 bolts. Super easy.

Wiggles,I can not afford new suspension seats. Too many other items on the to-do list.
Cruiser, I have a '94. Are there really many trucks from '99-01 that have almost new seats? That's why I was thinking junkyard for a recent wreck that would get me front seats that are in almost new condition. I have a friend that can weld the sliders to the bottom of any seat, & was hoping to get some feedback here on the best vehicles to pull nice buckets from. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Just curious, how do grand Cherokee seats fit into a cherokee? Or Challenger? Etc?

Go to your toolbox and pick up this tool
Measure your existing seats for all dimensions.
Go to your favorite automotive bone yard and pick out your new driving furniture, keeping in mind that you want something of similar dimensions.
Get a case of beer for your welder buddy and tell him to do his thing.
A friend of mine once put grand marquis seats in an IH Scout. Pretty cushy ride for that POS!

The later seats aren't bolt in for your 94. 97 and up a lot of the real late seats are.

I have later seats bolted into my 91. The front has a square metal section that is close to the dimensions of the floor in later XJ's. It is bolted to the floor and the seat track is bolted to it. One rear floor bolt will line up with an original mounting location, the has a hole drilled through floor and is just bolted.

I had just swapped in some better before Amber Jean Hammer, hammered me in the rear with a borrowed Volvo. Both my driver and I's hats landed in the back, and my passenger seat bent back to a 45* angle. Lesson: make sure those head rests are there, up where they belong. Without them we both might have been seriously hurt. Truth is, both Mat and I have have had some neck pain from that.

I love me some grand cherokee cloth buckets... I have some in my cherokee. Circa 1997 I believe. Comfortable as hell, sits you slightly higher than stockers so you might have to adjust your steering wheel a notch. Direct bolt in on your stock sliders.
I had to trim some plastic off the seat hinge to make them stop squeaking against my b-pillar

All good suggestions. I'll take a trip to the local JY next week & see what they have comming in. I live in pa,& the JYs around here get vehicles in one day, & are parting it up the next.
That's my reason for asking for a list of good trucks/cars with seats we can use to look out for.

ZJ Grand Cherokee cloth seats, direct fit. They usually come with tracks, which can be sold on e-bay. Seats pay for themselves.

I went the passenger seat bottom route myself. Solved my problem for only a couple bucks.
