Renix and OBD1, scanner live readout
I'm looking around for an OBD1/OBD2 scanner to replace an Innova 3140 that no longer functions.
One I'm interested in is a Bluepoint Microscan III that capable of OBD1 using the correct obd adapter.
I know Renix Jeep i.e. an 89 Renix AMC Jeep is capable of live readout using a Snap-On scanner such as an older MT-2500 with the correct cartridge and Jeep-1 adapter.
I'm wondering if OBD1 Jeeps are also capable of live readout similar to OBD2 and Renix?
RENIX - 87-90
OBD1 - 91-95
OBD2 - 96-01
Below is a link to a video showing live readout from an 89 Renix Jeep. I'm wondering are later OBD1 Jeeps (91-95) also capable of live readout using an OBD1 scanner? or perhaps this is something only found with Renix and OBD2 Jeeps?

I have the MT2500 in your video. I think it will provide live data as my Jeep cartridge went to 1999. I only used it with my RENIX Jeep but it did provide live data for other non-Jeep vehicles I had that were newer. You can sometimes pick them up for pretty cheap and they are great units.
However, I wouldn't recommend upgrading the MT2500 beyond 2000 as they want way too much for the PROM chips. You can buy an AUTEL unit for less than a single upgraded vehicle cartridge and you will need one cartridge for each vehicle make (GM/Ford/Asian/European etc). I have an AUTEL ML619 for all my 1997 and newer stuff. It diagnoses the ABS and Air Bags as well so very handy.
The OBD-1 does provide live data. That Innova 3140 you had should have been able to read the live data stream according to the website.
