Renix fuel line disconnect question (yes, another one)
So I looked around for the quick disconnect refresh/repair/whatever kits (Napa part 212305, factory part 83502745) at my local Napas and stealership. Can't get them for like a week at either place. The Jeep is already torn apart and I'm putting in the new injectors today or tomorrow, and need it back together asap.
---edited---
O rings in the Dorman Help! section part #90100, GM/Chrysler fuel rated o-rings were used, and and the clips (#800-005) were used,
Couldn't find anything for the spacers in between the o-rings, so I re-used the ones already in there.
Piecing it together with these parts is actually about half the price of the kits anyway, which is nice.
---edited---
They came out rather easy from the female ends, but now I'm trying to figure out how to get the clips on...

edited - how the hell do you get the quick disconnect clips over the little barb on the lines? The dorman ones are a bit too small to fit over the "hump" (which I imagine is the whole point) - do you just use a pick or wooden skewer or something alongside of it and just force it on?
The dorman quick disconnect is not the same as the factory one....I don't think the tube at the end is long enough to properly seat against the o-ring....I find this out after already snapping the old one off to put the new one on....
god ****ing damnit.
already called dealerships and napa, no one has these ****ing things.

Ya it's all done, but I really, really wish I didn't snap off that QD clip for the back side of the rail. I didn't know any better, figured the Dorman GM/Chrysler ones were the same thing and already had them in-hand. They don't have the same lip as the factory ones.
They look like this

Instead of this

So I left the one on the front side, buttoned everything up, pushed the back one on with the old o-rings and without even having the clip on, just to fire it up (and watch carefully for leaks)
It actually fired right up without a single leak. Let it burn off the bit of gas that fell onto the exhaust, turned it off, repeat, let her idle for a while.
I wonder if that lip on the factory style clip even really matters all that much, seeing as how the back line doesn't leak as it is, without a clip whatsoever and I didn't even change out the O-rings on that one yet...
Obviously I'm not driving it with that back line about to come off, but wanted to check for leaks. The local dealership said possibly by saturday I could have the part in, for ~$25....for a piece of damn plastic that I didn't even have to break off...
I'll make a few calls tomorrow, but I already called one dealership, said it would be a few business days to get it, Napa only has one in Virginia, same deal - a few business days. I could order from Morris, but I doubt I'd get it before later on next week unless I pay $30-40 just to ship a stupid piece of plastic. I might have to hit up a junk yard, but even then I'd be lucky not to just snap any that I find, as I'm not even sure how to get them off without breaking them?
That all being said, the throttle response is definitely much better with these upgraded injectors. Haven't actually DRIVEN it yet, but I can already tell.
Hopefully the gas smell in my oil won't rear it's head again (which I had posted in a separate thread) - though it may have been unrelated to injectors entirely. Wanted to do this either way, so we shall see...
