Renix Alternator Replacement Delco CS-130
My alternator is bad, what is the replacement for the Delco CS-130 alternator? There are no alternator rebuild shops near me, (that's what I've read is best to do). What can I get new that is compatible, extremely reliable, and keeps it around the same amps? (or under 100A)
Also, side question: Do higher amperage alternators give worse fuel economy?

" Do higher amperage alternators give worse fuel economy?", No. Not unless you are actually using more power for something like lights or charging aux. batteries. (then only marginally I'd suppose). The power to your house is high capacity, but you need to turn things on to spin the meter more. The alternator can nearly "free wheel", then when needed the regulator can up the magnetic field strength of the rotor which then makes it go to work.
