RENIX '87 standard cluster to '89 tach cluster--plug & play?
This may have come up before, but is it possible to swap an '87 standard cluster with the big fuel gauge for a '89 cluster with a tachometer without changing wiring or sensors?
The '87 cluster in question has gauges for temperature, amps, and oil pressure already. The low fuel warning light is in the lower left area, where the fuel gauge is in the tach cluster.
The '87 still uses the cable for the speedometer.

Yep all the same stuff. I even have 92 US oil and temp guages in my 88 CDN Guage cluster. The harness connectors are the same for those years.
Only thing you may need to change is the temp sensor and oil pressure sensor if you have the dummy lights and not actual guages for those.
