Removing A/C components
2 Attachment(s)
So basicaly i want to remove all my A/C components except for the compressor that i will turn into a OnboardCompressor.
My question is,,, will removing all these things affect anything?? I plan on keeping the a/c condenser because it blocks the rad mainly want to get rid of the hoses and tank... |
No

I once rear ended a guy and pulled it all out on the scene. Never noticed a different on mine. Just don't breathe in the coolant chemical.
I did leave the cylinder thing that all hoses pass through cuz there's a sensor attached to it and didn't know if that would affect anything. I would like to know about the cylinder thing though. |
It will not hurt anything unless you have a stock electric fan wired from factory,it will not come on when it gets hot because it does not see pressure in the a/c system. However the switch can be bypassed. It looks like you have aftermarket fans mounted.
the tank or cylinder is the receiver drier that contains silica for moisture removal and it also stores refrigirant prior to being used,it is on the high pressure side of the system, the switch is the comp cutout which will prevent the comp from coming on if it does not see normal pressure or charge. |
yes i do have aftermarket fans..
I will go to the shop and get the freeon or whatever removed before i start ripping stuff out,, My main concern was getting a Check Engine or something not functioning properly,,,, but then agani i thought, they do make xj without a/c |
