Removable doors idea

Has anyoneever heard of doing anything like this? I was thinking of getting four lower door hinges ( 2 per front door) from a CJ and welding them to my XJ. Of course I would have to come up with some wiring disconnect system as I have power locks and windows. Doing this would/should alow my to remove my front doors in warm weather and put them back on in cold or inclement weather. Let me know what you think or any problems you think I may run into.

i also hear removing the torx bolts is the way to go
i ALSO hear that ther are already disconects under the kick panels for the doors
and also that you need to add support cuz the doors have alot to do with the structual integrity of the truck... thats what iv found out so far hope it helps

Just took mine off the other day, and taking the torx off first was the way to go. Putting the doors back was kinda a pain, but they lined up perfectly.
The doors don't provide structural integrity, but the hatch does (get flexed out open and close a door, but you probably won't be able to get the hatch closed if you could even get it open) so you don't need to worry about that. That being said, the doors will help protect you in a side collision.
