Default Remote starter question

Hey, a question for any of you wrench-ers out there. My 99 Cherokee came with an aftermarket starter. Kind of cool but whatever. You hit the button, it starts, you get in, put in the key and turn it to the start position and away you go. However, if you hit the brakes before you put the key in and turn it, the car dies. No prob. Understood. Some anti-theft process. My problem is that if you do this, and it dies, it has a very difficult time restarting, with the key OR the remote start. Just cranks and cranks and cranks. I usually end up hitting the remote start and pinning the gas. It reluctantly catches after 8 to 10 long seconds.

Why would it do this? The Jeep always starts right up, either with the key or remote start. Runs like a top. So, why does it struggle so if you kill the remote-started engine by hitting the brake? Is there some sort of fuel blockage, anti-theft thing going on?

Probably an anti theft thing. My remote start system won't let you start the jeep if you don't unlock it with the key fob.

My wife's Kia has an anti theft device where you have to double tap the push start in the interior to get it to run. You just have to figure out whatever your particular anti theft trick is or just live with it.

A maybe goofy uninformed thought. Maybe the remote start isn't feeding enough power to the system........brake lights take allot of juice. I suppose if it doesn't die with the blower on high that might help sort that out? (or emergency flashers)

On pre 91 Renix Jeeps, "pinning" the throttle both cut's off injector pulse and provides max air to help overcome being flooded, BTW....
