Default Rear suspension bump stop dilemma

About 3 or 4 weeks ago I was driving home on the highway with the wife and baby. There's a spot on the road after a small bridge that has a funky dip. When I had my VW, the rear wheels would rub pass this spot at speed.

Well, I had a similar issue with the Jeep. I heard a loud clunk and rub when I passed this spot. So, when I get home, I check things out and come to find I have no bump stop on the rear pass side.

So, been trying to order one online but there seems to be 2 different OE models. One that is 2.9 inches (same as my driver side one) and one that is 4.1 inches.

Can anyone tell me which one I should be buying? I assumed the 4.1 inch unit was for lifted Jeeps, but wasn't sure considering it shows up under an OE search.

Plus, the shorter ones actually cost 3 times more than the longer ones, so if the longer ones are OK, I'd prefer to save a few bucks.

Thanks.

I think you will be fine with the longer ones, not 100% though

This makes no sense.....why did they offer 2 diff sizes for the same OE spring height?

My 98's factory bumps are a hair longer than 4".

So on the 97-01 "revised" XJ's, they started using the 4.1 inch version then?
