i replaced my rear main seal last night and wfter i got everything put back together i noticed this laying on the ground. i know it came from the back of the motor but i dont know if it was on the inside or the outside of the oil pan. anyone else who has replaced their rear main should know what this is.

 

I'm about 80% sure that goes on the outside in the rear.
