When I come to a stop, then release the brakes there is a loud popping noise. I checked the u joints, there is no play at all in the ds. I changed the fluid in the rear diff in the fall and there was no broken teeth or any metal shavings in the housing. Does anyone have any idea's. I am going to pull the diff cover off this weekend if the rain holds off and check for any broken teeth on the ring and pinion and in the spider gears.

 

3" lift with stock rear DS still? Try removing the DS and put some grease in the slip-yoke. The splines are just worn out and is pretty common
