Question Rear drive shaft bolt size?

Trying to remove my rear drive shaft on my 96 cherokee and I cant seem to figure out the size of the stupid thing... I tried a 8mm and a 5/16 but I honestly have no idea if its metric or if its standard. They are REALLY small and im REALLY confused and alittle tried of trying every small size I have underneath a tight space on a cold garage floor.

So any help on the flippin size would be great!

It's 8mm.. try the open end side of the wrench or a socket.

Thanks a bunch! finally got it off. Now Im working on the front. Is it the same size? or is it bigger? So far the only thing I did with the front is get it secured and up on blocks so I can fit underneath and start working on it.
