Default Rear Door Won't Close

I'm not sure what the best approach is for this... I keep oiling the damn hinge/latch inside the rear passenger door. The black piece rotates as it should and it is not corroded (I can push it one way or the other with a screw driver). But sometimes the door closes shut and other times it takes me some WD40 and about 40 tries to get the door to shut.

What's the deal with that? Should I be using heavy duty grease? Should i spray brake cleaner in there and completely flush out any dried up grease in there?

I just want to fix it because I would hate to be out somewhere, open the door and then not be able to shut the door...

I had a similar issue with my drivers front door and it wound up being the top hinge was about the break off the post and it eventually did. The sag was causing the latch to grab the ring on the frame on the open swing.

So what did you need to do to fix it?

Eventually the top hinge broke away from the frame, I had a friend of a friend weld it back on for me and my problem went away. The sagging of the door and eventual hinge off the frame was my issue.

Alright. So I took the entire latch mechanism apart and with the help of a friend, it was determined that the inside hardware of the latch was rusting and not lubricated properly.

Filed off all the rust, re-lubed, re-installed. Latch is good as new!!!
