Default rear defroster help needed

I have a problem with my rear defroster, I put on my brakes and the light on my defroster lights and defrosts even though the switch hasn't been flicked, when I flick the switch my brake light stay on as if I was braking. I tired finding any info on YouTube and there's nothing.

Wires touching open hatch check for broken wires at the top corners. Also behind spare tire panel.

Yep, sounds like a short somewhere back there. No blown fuses yet?

Well I'd start there then. May have shorted some wires together putting in the new radio. Pull the switch for the defroster and see if the connections are corroded or touching anything they ain't supposed to. Also check for other bare wires. Bare wires are bad.

Well we found the problem it was broken wires in the plug in the tailgate, ended up popping a fuse and had no brake lights, but it's all fixed. Thanks guys
