So i am building a rear bumper with a swingaway tire carrier. i dont know what kind of latch i want to use to hold the swingawat closed.
can you please post pictures of what you did and explain how you did it?

id say a simple way to put a hitch pin thru would be nice. you could take some steel channel and drill two holes thru that and then weld a tab on to the bumper that has a matching hole in it and you can just slip the hitch pin into that

with a little bit of fabrication you could use the latch off of a stock carrier if you can find one in a junkyard.
