rear brakes, differance in braking power
Dear guys and dolls,
I have a huge problem with my 1990 stock cherokee 4,0. On yearly mandatory technical inspection i have a big differance in braking power on right and left. Tried everything: adjusting brakes, have renewed shoes, bleeded the system many times..
There is no leakage on the brake cylinder. I have been rechecking on the brake measuring machine multiple times, but everytime the same result.
What can cause the right rear brake so poorly? Please advise..

do you means the steel ones on the axle ?
When last I bled my rears, one had appreciably less flow than the other
I thought maybe that side steel hose may be partially restricted inside, although it does not pull to one side when braking
I agree the single rear rubber one should be replaced as a consumable, if its age is not known, possibly original

The difference in flow should've told you something & if it's the right one that flows less, I think you've found the problem - & the answer.
Brake imbalance is a common inspection fail, although it's usually no more than adjustment. Personally I've never even heard of a hard line being restricted - but you seem to have seen the evidence for yourself. Be as well to change that rubber pipe while you're at it, don't rely on that retaining clip keeping any tension, even if it comes off in one piece & at least check your local parts store has wheel cylinders in stock.
Oh, & you wouldn't really notice the unequal effort pulling to, presumably the left in your case - it's not like drums on the front did.
