Rear brake question
I just recently had a problem with my rear drum brakes after getting a complete rebuild on my rear end. The right rear drum especially felt like it was dragging and rubbing in one certain spot. A buddy told me I needed new drums because they were warped and couldn't be cut. They were cheap so I replaced them. I still hear a scratching spot as if the shoes are bad also. Should I have replaced the shoes also even if they weren't bad or still had alot of life?

New drum may be slightly out of round or shoes may not be perfectly centered in the drum...replacing the shoes may or may not make a difference.

Make sure you have the spring on the spreader bar and that you have adjusted the shoes to make contact and backed off a 1/2 turn. It might rub a little but it will clearance itself after a little driving. Post a picture of your brakes and it will help us diagnose correct spring and parts placement.
