Reallly bad Grinding!!!
I have a really bad grinding sound when i go like over 15 mph, idk what it is for sure, i was thinking transfer case but i'm kinda a noob so im just wandering what it could be and how to fix it
We'll need alot more info than that if you want help.Like tranny t/c what you do with jeep like off roading etc.
yeah sure, its an auto and an np231 and i recently got stuck in a mud hole when i was in 4-lo, when i got pulled out i coulndt keep my car engadged in any gear so i thought thats why it was grinding, so i fixed that and it stays in gears but it's still grinding

I have never heard that sound before? Is the linkage ok on the t/c, driveshafts arnt binding or anything?
idk how to check the linkage or adjust it, thats what my initial thought was but idk how to mess with it
Try the search function maybe you can get a picture of the linkage there will be something on it but it might take a bit of time to find I'll see what I can dig up to.
had to listen to the video more than once cuz it sounded like your exhaust at first.lol. i can tell you from what i heard when my transfer case went it sounded way different. the chain in mine was bouncing off the sides so it was a metal on metal sound. are you in 2wd or 4 wd when its making the noise?
Yeah I couldnt find pics, there's a linkage adjustment bolt somewhere but idk where lol
I was in 2wd but it does it in 4wd as well
Long shot have you checked all the fluids?
no but i guess i could, i dont feel like thats it though
Most likly isnt but got to start some were. You dont have to do it I only suggested it.
Fluids are all good
