RC 4.5 Lift
Hey guys I have a 97 Cherokee country with only 77,000 miles on it, I'm thinking about buying the RC 4.5" lift kit but I'm not extremly mechanically inclined, Ive helped my buddy put a body lift on his wrangler last year an have been foolin around with cars forever but Just wondering what kinda problems I can be getting myself into. Any advice?

it is not that hard if you break it into different sections. the rear is just replacing shocks and leaf springs not that hard. the front is just shocks springs and control arms and maybe a few miscellaneous parts. make sure you get a spring compressor and if you have a compressor and impact gun it will make it a little more easy for you. just take your time and dont rush your self or it will get frustrating

everything I'm going to need is going to be in this kit? I'll be using 30" tires for a while but then I plan on going to 32" will this be ok without any trimming?
|
you will have to trim a little for the 32 but for the 30 or 31 you wont really have to trim unless you are not using bump stops
|
thanks man, again im kinda new to this what are bump stops?
|
just google'd it I didnt know those were called bump stops (didnt know what they were called actually) but I would have to get those seperatley right? Who would you suggest?
|
if you look at where your front spring mount there is a rubber piece in the middle it will hit the pad at the bottom of where the spring mounts they use these to make sure that it stops the movement of the tire so it does not impact with the wheel well or anything else that could damage things. they are just a way to limit wheel travel
|
they should be in your kit either an extension or a new one

If you are going to 4.5" it is recommended to do a sye so that you do not have problems with your rear. It will add $400+ to the expense but it will be worth it in the long run

nice, thanks guys I appreciate it

no problem
