Default Rattle from torque converter on startup only

Have a 93 xj that I just did an engine swap on and all went perfect for like 200 miles. Runs a drives great except for the fact that when u start it, there is a heavy rattle coming from the torque converter. It stops once the engine starts. I'm pretty sure it's the torque converter bolts on the flywheel. My real problem with that is: how do u get a torque wrench in there to get proper torque. When I installed them last time, I used a closed end wrench and just pulled as hard as I could. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Tim

Check them again. If you hold the front crankshaft bolt with a 3/4" socket and ratchet while you tighten the flexplate to torque converter bolts they should be tight enough. I always clean the bolt threads and use LocTite on them when installing them.

You don't have a Fram oil filter on that engine, do you?

I do have a fram filter actually. Why? I did use the 3/4" socket last time. No locktite though

Read this:

I'm thinking the noise you hear on start-up may be oil starvation at the engine bearings due to a Fram oil filter with a crappy anti-drainback valve and general poor construction. Bearings don't like being lubricated on start-up with air.

That makes sense because I have a slight knock at the back that of the engine too. Looks like its time for the striker kit lol

This is becoming very common anymore. That's troubling.

Easy to find, good quality and reasonable price is Wix or Napa gold.
