Default Random high idle at startup

This issue is getting old... time to ask for help.

89 4.0 that will randomly idle up around 2000 rpm on startup.

Happened a while back, so I took the TB apart and cleaned it as well as the IAC. Seemed to help for a while... but now the issue has reared it's ugly head again.

TPS maybe? Any other ideas?

EDIT: Forgot about the TPS test and adjustment on cruiser's page. Going to start there first.

Sorry it took so long to get back with this.

My high idle randomly disappeared for a month or so, and then began to rear it's ugly head once again.

So, I went straight to tip 5... everything checked out normal.

Then I did tip 8, crunched a couple numbers and clocked the tps until it hit my desired output voltage.

She starts like a dream. THANKS A TON CRUISER! Your Renix site has been an invaluable resource for me!

P.S. My output voltage was well outside the 17% range required before the tune up.

So one last question... What causes them to get out of range and require adjustment? Obviously it was a known issue... I mean, they are slotted to allow for movement.

Sure, I get that... Is there an electrode that wears down, or something?
