rancho rs5000 shocks
Heres my dilema i installed rancho rs5000's on my jeep last summer so there brand new but i just ordered my RE 3.5 inch lift. I think that the rancho shocks will still fit what do you guys think. Rancho only sells one size i think the piston just expands longer? any feedback would be great

The Rancho RS5000 will only fit up to a 2.5" lift max.. I had them I know.. When I went to the RE 3.5 kit my jeep sits at 4.5" of lift atm. No way those Ranchos will work properly offroad and flexing.

I will make a suggestion on the RE 3.5 kit for ya.. Get some .75" coil spacers for the front to level it out. Also get MonoTube shocks you won't regret spending the extra cash. I got the twin tubes and really wish I had mono's now.

Well I will tell you the XJ has a slight natural rake the slight increase in the front makes it look level. Just may be me but I don't like the natural slight rake so I installed a coil spacer to deal with that.
Oh and I just looked at that thread and yes Kyle's Jeeps front sits a tad lower then the rear. Seen many pics of his rig.

Also the guy at DPG Offroad told me to get some and he sells every RE 3.5 kit with .75" spacers for that reason. The rear leafs are pretty darn stiff. They do this to allow for the heavy aftermarket rear bumpers with tire carriers.

Then your jeep is illegal from the factory as is many coil sprung rigs.. You have a spacer called an isolator inbetween your coil and the top side coil seat. Comes that way from the factory and some sort of s pad/spacer/bushing or what ever you want to call it is needed to reduce vibes and such from the coils themselves.

i know all jeeps have an isolator, and a state would never make that illegal. But it is illegal to alter the height by use of a spacer. Or im interpreting it incorrectly.
direct verbage:
reject vehicle if the front of the vehicle has be altered or modified to raise or lower the front end by the use of blocks, universal spring shackle extensions, or the improper use of air shocks, spacers, or other similar means.
i guess its fine as long as you do it properly
