Ran great, until I got 1200 miles from home.
Started running rough as a cob yesterday on a trail ride. Came to base and swapped fuel pump because it started groaning pretty good. Threw on a new map sensorwhile I was under it. Stumbles hard from a dead stop, have to pump the gas to get it to stumble to 1700rpm and make smoother power from there.
Brick says rpm are all over the place from 700-4k, tps is all over the place from 13-55%, and the map flutters a bit, at a 700 rpm idle, 2k on the road or key on engine off.

Among other things, 3 month old fuel pressure regulator is passing fuel through the vacuum line, suck on the line and see cool spots. Ripoffrockauto.com strikes again.
Will this make my data all screwy?
I found a loose battery to body ground when I cleaned the battery posts. The brick says 13.6 volts at idle.

If all you did was tighten, that is not enough. Remove, clean, then tighten. Been there, done that. Could also be a wiring and/or connector issue. Check all of them under the hood for any corrosion (TPS, MAP, IAC, etc..). Clean with electrical cleaner if needed, let dry, and make sure they are firmly seated. Dont forget the PCM. It needs a little love from time to time as well. Especially if the clips are broken as that allows the connectors to back out ever so slightly. Doesnt mean they will, but they can. You said the MAP flutters a bit, so check the vacuum lines as well, just because.
What brand was that regulator?

Old fart with a wrench
You never mentioned what vehicle you're talking about. What's a brick?

88, 4.0, snap on mt2500 ( brick ) did for this morning. Replaced fpr. Pulled map sensor line, it plugged itself with the old map sensor guts I guess. Added a new ground, block to cab, the old one ran from the intake to the firewall, left it and cleaned all contact points including sensor ground.
Data is still crazy but seems to be slowing down... idles/Runs better but haven't driven it yet

Drives fine. Data is still all over the place, beginning to doubt the validity of the 25 year old snapon scanner. Goes into closed loop and stays there for the most part. Shifts fine, had a bit of a miss until the plugs cleaned off.
