Hey. The other day I decided to do a cheap headliner job on my 96 cherokee country and used staple gun to attach the fabric. Anyways, when i finished, I realized my power locks, remote start, and interior lights dont work anymore. Are there any wires that run along the cieling that I may have hit? I know the interior lights may be fuses because of the doors being open for so long, but the radio is a major issue. Does it run wires through the cieling? Please help. Thanks so much.

I'm guessing you hit a wire from the dome lights. You probably just shorted it and blew a fuse, but need to un-staple the wires before replacing it

ok. but the main thing i need is the radio. is there any reason the radio should have gone out?

I blew a fuse, and had those same symptoms.

Yes. The fuses are used for more than one thing. You blew the one for the interior. It runs more than just the radio. You know where the fuse block is, yes? I can't remember if it's labeled 'radio' or 'int. lights' or what have you, but it's real easy to just put a new one in. Don't go with a bigger fuse! If it pops again you need to start removing staples.

ok. thanks guys. i found a fuse diagram and the interior electricals and everything run on the same fuse. its definately blown. ill put another one in and see wahat happens. could the fuse have blown because i left the doors open for so long making the dome light stay on for two hours?

Definitely NOT...the most that would happen is a dead battery. Check the wires running to the dome light or the key-less entry...Tj

it should not blow out from the doors being open. its most likely the staples
