Default Radiator Recommendations

I've got an '89 (closed cooling system) and there's a leak in the rad so I need to replace it. Any suggestions for brand/vendor?

F1, this will potentially start another radiator war, you realise that, no?

I replaced the radiator in my 1991 about 18 months ago. I would suggest checking out a local radiator repair shop. They should have some replacements radiators and the good ones will warranty them also.

I would second buying locally......much easier/quicker to address a warranty issue locally vs mail order/Internet.

The problem with repair is that I can't be without my Jeep, it's my only transport. That's why I can't spend a long time doing open system conversions and 3-core super-fan aluminum racing retrofits, I just need to quickly get it working. My pressure bottle is less than 6 months old and it doesn't leak, I've got the NAPA cap, I've replaced the thermostat, all hoses, and water pump within the last year... I just need a radiator that doesn't leak.

I'll take the old one in and have it repaired to keep as a spare.

I found a replacement rad on Amazon for $70 shipped. (same model as $120 @ autozone). no problems so far (been about 6 months).

I got mine from rock auto.. the cheapest option they had.. you basically got whatever brand they had in stock...

Cools like a champ! and the quality surprised me!

The only thing that was different was the nipple coming from the radiator cap to my overflow... the new radiator had a bigger nipple (hehe)
