Default radiator draincock

I have a 93 and a 99 cherokees. The 93 has a draincock on the radiator for changing the antifreeze but the '99 does not.

Does anyone know how I would empty the radiator? I thought of removing the lower rad hose but that is in a tight space and not easily removed. I would prefer the draincock. Is it in a hidden spot that I don't see?

Thanks for any advice.

John

Don't use the petcock! Your 99 has one, but it is buried. And if it hasn't been used for a while, they break easily leaving you with real problems.

Just drop the lower hose.

Trust me. This is much easier and MUCH safer.

I would undo the lower hose. Drains faster that way too.

i'm another vote for the lower hose. if you have problems, it should be pretty easy to pull the airbox (one bolt and one nut on my 97) and you can get both hands on it from the top. they drain really quick this way.

Yep, remove the air filter box, piece of cake to get the bottom rad hose then.
