Default Radiator compression fitting

Looking for any any advice on removing the trans compression fitting to radiator. Trying to replace it and can't get the damn thing off. I tried the compression removal tool and it just broke to pieces (cheap plastic from Harbor Freight). Is it fairly simple to just replace if I simply cut the line?

Buy a better quality tool, even a Craftsman does a good job for a non-everyday use tool price is very reasonable as I remember.

Are you talking the fitting below? I believe I used a 7/8" line wrench.

Are you talking about the trans cooler line quick disconnect fitting at the bottom of the radiator?

If so, here's the tool you'll need (available at Advance Auto Parts and I've seen kits at Harbor Freight having this 5/16" tool.

I recently replaced my radiator and I used this tool:

It was only $5.00 at my local O'Reilly and it worked amazingly well. Yesterday I pulled my cylinder head and I used the same tool to disconnect the fuel line from the rail. Again, it worked really well. Easy peasy.
