Question about Track Bar Adjustment?
Is this hard to do, what tools are required, here is the situation, I took The Beast( 97 XJ)
to my local Firestone to get it balance, rotated and aligned All lifetime, I figure for 200 bucks its a good deal specially if ill take it off road.. Any hows they showed me the front end is not even, more towards the drivers side. they said that to adjust its another $185., money that i don't really have.. Is this something i can do myself, some guidance please... here is a pic of my rig "The Beast"
ok so I took these pictures, I believe this is the track bar(1st pic), It looks like an adjustable track bar, but you guys tell me... I wasnt sure if this is (pic 2) is a part that has to be adjusted, can you also direct me in what i would need to do... Step by step, down to where i should safely put the jacks, tools and will this be visual as well as measured & does anyone have any specs.. .. I really appreciate the help in advance..

Yes it is. It is very easy to do once you get everything broken loose. However it looks like someone tack welded the jam nut . You will have to address that first. Then just rotate it and lengthen it. You will just have to do it visually by looking at the back of the Jeep and sighting along the outside of the rear tires. One by product is that you will have to adjust your steering wheel again because it will rotate.

Pull the frame end. Then push the front end back and forth a few times then bounce it up and down a few times. Now you just have to adjust your bar to the frame end. Hope this made sence to you I have found this the easiest way to do it.

Wow, $200 for a track bar adj was a rip! I just got a 4 wheel alignment including shifting the axle over for $60. I knew that mine was out by measuring from the inside of the fender well across the top of the tire to the outside lug of the tire and then take the same measurement on the other side. I was about 1" off and after the alignment it's spot on. I'm sure you can do this yourself, though.

ok so its not tack welded. I'm a bit confused, do I need to jack the truck up? from pic one how do I remove the adjustable track bar, do I loosen the nut thats on the bottom where the track bar is hooked up to? and do i push the axle towards the passenger side I think thats what you are saying a1racer... if you can draw a diagram or take pics that will help.. is that asking for to much .. lol ...

Stryker you shouldve at least looked at the pics lol.
He's got what looks like an RE adj TB.
Pull the bolt out of the frame mount adjust it using a tape measure and the methods said above. Thtll cost you $0 and just a few mins.
