Default Question about Scanning the TCM for fault codes

1998 2wd, auto. Check engine light on with a code P-0700. My scanner will not connect to the TCM. I have a fairly expensive Autel scanner. I’m wondering if there is a Chrysler interface required to scan the TCM. Anyone know? Thanks

I should mention that when my scanner connects to the car it tells me to select the Chrysler CCD connector or I might not be able to access airbag info.

You can check the tcm functions somewhat by probing the connectors. Continuity, solenoid resistance, etc. Multimeter is your friend.
