ive never gotten before ever and i drive on the highway everyday. i figured since the balljoints gave out and i had to drive it like that for a day it stressed something else out

x2 on the bushings. and check all of the linkages for tightness if your ball joints went out it could have been enough to kill your bushings and new ball joints could show other items that have worn out.

Doesnt sound as if the balljoints was the problem.

Have someone sit in drivers seat, turn the wheel back and forth semi quickly to where the tires just start to move. (Dont start it) Lay under the front and look for movement from something that looks as though it shouldnt. You have something worn out/loose somewhere in steering, suspension, or wheel assembly.

x91j 03-10-2010 01:31 AM

iknow. i never got an alignment after the ball joints were replaced. could that be it? but when i got my lift put in my alignment was super off and it never did this

JeepingDan 03-10-2010 05:28 AM

track bar

Bustedback 03-10-2010 09:25 AM

Track bar or wheel balance. Alignment will not cause a shimmy unless it WAY out of wack, but on a Jeep, something would have to be really bent up to cause the alignment to be off enough to cause a shimmy.
