Default Problems Guys, some thoughts??

Took the heep to the exhaust shop today, on the way home, started missing, sputtering, even felt like a backfire. The closer i got to home, the worse it got, started losing power, no acceleration without bogging, had to feather the gas from the light or it would straight up die..... When it did quit running, i checked the overflow bottle, no coolant, popped the rad cap, low level, checked the ERL, clean!!! Thinking WTF!!!!! Checked the trans fluid, WHAT THE HELL???? Sooo, what does this mean as far as my transmission??? There's no leaks ANYWHERE, can i get away with a drain and fill?? Also, i turn on my rearwindow defroster, and i lose my tach and speedo operation!!!???

No Coolant? Was there coolant there originally? Was it totally full originally or did it need a burp? I have had our 95ZJ overheat and stall (so my daughter tells me, new rad, pump, thermo, hoses etc followed). Did you have an overheat condition? What is an ERL, and what has all this to do with your trans. I would recommend a trans drain, wipe pan squeeky clean, new filter and refill at any time (others will say otherwise).
How is the trans related to the symptoms as descried? Were there any performance anomolies on the way to the muffler shop and is there anything the muffler people could have touched (or torched) that you could think of? Don't turn on the rear window defrost, you have side mirrors and plenty more issues to deal with first.

X2.

Trans fluid isn't going to make the engine lose coolant and possibly overheat. Or seize up.

Will it turn over now? Will it run now after cooling off?

Illinois redneck for OIL!! Yes... It cranks, and runs, it revs good and idle's fine in park and neutral.. Driveability issues occur when in gear applying a load on the eng.!

sounds like your timing has jumped out of wack, check your dist. cap, make sure its not loose, you shoulnt be able to turn it at all and check it for cracks,if thats ok look under cap and check your rotor for cracks and moister, hope this helps you out.

Turns out, alternator took a steaming dump, the yellow top optima took 2 days for it to discharge, wasn't aware the alt took a steaming pile on me!! Sooo, modifying the alt bracket with a angle grinder and dremel, using a 140 amp Grand Cherokee Alternator from the yard for 20 bucks (it is fairly new), my optima was able to take a full charge (whew-200 bucks i dont have to spend 2 replace) Radiator took a crap, Explains the coolant in the trans fluid. Going with a Manual trans radiator and external
b&m trans cooler!! Got a deal on some Electric fans, flushing the trans a couple times, replace the trans filter, and we should be good!!! She runs, timing is spot on, but changing the cap, rotor, plugs and wires, water pump, and t-stat/and housing!!!! She should be bullet proof!!!!!!! Thanks for all the input and suggestions guys!!!!! ....For life
