Default Problems

so heres the deal. i had my motor out changing the freeze lpugs. ran perfectly fine before doing this minus the leakage of coolant from plug. now shes back together and im thinking i cracked the flexplate in the process dont kknow how just a horrible noise coming from the bellhousing. was running fine sitting idling drove it around a little bit ran fine. parked it went to cxrank it up the next morning wouldnt start so easy after it did start running fine in park then started out for a little run and it was fine at first then started to hesitate then back to normal. parked it for a couple days didnt mess with it started it hesitated to start but finally started drove it maybe 10 minutes pulled in gas station and left it running ran for maybe five mins and it stalled took about 15 mins for it to start back up took that same 10 min drive back home and stalled as i pulled into the driveway ive read alot of threads this morning about what it could be but dont want to start dumping more money without some advice directly to my problem from some other XJers any advice guys. ive also uploaded a video of what it sounds like running.

Yes they are. I've checked several times. I also pulled them and turned the crank and it still made the noise. I can try to upload that video too.

Did you remove the torque converter from the trans when you pulled the engine?

No I did not. When I had the bolts out I was able to put my finger in there and hold the torque converter while I spun the crank still heard the noise and with my finger I was abke to spin the converter didnt hear the noise. Is that bad?

It's good if you didn't remove the TC when you removed the engine. How's your flexplate?

I'm guessing you'll be pulling the transmission this time.

I'm pretty sure the flexplate is gone I already have a replacement. But before I go pulling anything I just wanted to be sure that its the plate thats causing the rest of the problems not just noise.

If it tore up the cps, good possibility. Could also be the front pump tho, you won't know for sure til you tear in to it.
