Power windows stopped working
Today I was driving with the windows down and all of a sudden the windows stopped working! I can’t control them from the drivers control panel, neither individually from every door.
I checked the fuses, found out that my fuse box looks a little bit different than most here. Prob because it is Australian. And so I don’t know which one it is, but they seem all good. Anybody an idea what else it can be? Btw this is my fuse box https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...5eb391879b.jpg (it is also under the hood, instead of under the steering wheel) |
Check all fuses and there a fuse box inside by drivers feet.

Can't remember where it is in RHD models but the same fuse panel is in all of 'em. Power window fuses are in the junction block.

I found them. The previous owner made a mess with the cables under the steering wheel. The fuse was blown and I replaced it.
But there is also something wrong with the drivers window switchboard, because some windows come up, depending on how I install the buttons. This is how the buttons look (I left the door switch connected) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...817f3b3a0c.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...edd6f98601.jpg I want to give the button connections a real good clean. What would you recommend? Just contact cleaner? |
A fine wire brush should shine them right up. What the condition of the plug. Some switch just snap together. Theres little springs and a electrial contact bar that can also have issue.
