Default power steering reservoir line leaking

so some time ago my power steering line burst. I replaced the line with fuel line and cut the lower metal end thinking it was fixed to the line. What i have now is the fuel line hose clamped to the metal line, and the reservoir. Both side seem to be leaking.
This is a low pressure line which i thought of maybe draining the reservoir and adding some rtv to the line ends. I also recall the inch of metal line i cut off had a flare, is this a end all reason for it leaking?

I cut the previous line for lack of being able to find a replacement.

What should the I.D. be of this line?

What do you all suggest as the fix to stop it leaking?

Both the pressure and return lines are part rubber and part metal with the ends being flared properly. Why not just replace the line peoperly? I got my replacement lines in Rock Auto for a reasonable price.

i was only able to find the high pressure line, you got both on rock auto? any part #s

replacing the line with the correct part is my preferred method of fixing it.
