Power mirrors
My 96 Xj country currently has the standard mirrors in it right now. I have a set if the power mirrors that are in better shape and I have the switch. The other day I notices that the plug for the power mirrors is part of the door harness. Is there any way I can get the mirrors to work? Will I have to complete the harness to make them work? Any help would be appreciated

They should plug right in if your wires are intact. But unless you're looking for heat - and I doubt the '96 has it - you don't need to connect the wires for them to "work". How often do you adjust your mirrors? Power mirrors click into place with a little bit of thumb pressure & they stay that way until you press on the glass again. They do not rattle out of position. I swapped 97+ mirrors into my XJ several years ago & never managed to wire up anything. Never had an issue. Sure your switch won't work, but again ... how often do you adjust your mirrors?

They aren't heated but, I must say, StationWagon, you make a very good point. I was well on my way to installing them till the damn set screw on manual mirrors showed up. I now need to find myself a very small torx bit.
