I recently took my front doors off my 99 cherokee 4DR and after a week of doing this my power locks worked intermittently and now they dont work at all and theyll lock when they want to with out me hitting anything and i cant figure it out any ideas? I checked all the wires i disconnected and theyre all tight?

 

I just checked all the wiring and its all good what else should i check

 

My 98 did the same thing twice in the past year for no good reason. The first time it would unlock the doors, but not lock. When I got back from ride they worked. About a month ago it did the same thing. As soon as I started it, they worked. I have to look in the service manual, there must be a relay somewhere. This is why I dislike all this electric stuff. It is great when it works, but sucks when you have a problem. Remember our youngest Cherokees are 10 years old.

 

Similar problem here, my door switches will unlock all the doors but not lock them, and the key fob will lock all the doors but not unlock them. I haven't had time to troubleshoot much on this though.
