Default possible trans issue

so yesterday i was cruising in 3rd/drive and the torque converter locked in at its normal point of 1800 rpms. im cruising vor a couple of seconds cand i let off the gas, i noticed the torque converter didnt unlock. i tapped the break pedal and then the torque converter unlocked.

i put it in od and it does the same exact thing, once the torque converter locks in 4th gear, i have to tap the pedal to get it to unlock.

do i have a serious issue?

is there anything i can do to fix it.

Make sure the kickdown cable is adjusted properly. If its shifting and locking up, it sounds like the trans is working as designed. The TPS, VSS and brake switch all affect the trans.
