So I discovered this under my windshield washer bottle, fist time I ever removed it. it was a bunch of mud and pine needles arround the base of the hose which is nearing the end of its life. the hose is about 3-4 inches to an elbow towards the cab. I imagine its something for heating system?

Firewall side of your heater core. That is your heater's electric fan you have in the pics.

Yes air conditioning leak. I've seen this happen to like 4 vehicles lately. Pretty expensive fix and if you didnt fix it your rig will smell really bad inside

I'll be darned. That tube lets air circulate from the other side of your firewall into the motor housing for your blower. There's an impeller/blower on the other side of that black cylinder (the electric motor). The little orifice on the lower side of that cylinder is out of sight, and I couldn't figure out why a tube would just go into the firewall, so I thought nothing of it and threw that tube away. Then I started getting water on my floorboards. So that's why that tube was there. Thanks, Troth. Throw some RTV or caulk around the flat part of your blower motor and replace that tube with a plastic pipe and seal it as well. That's what I'm off to do.

Hopefully its not an AC leak, you'd have an acrid smell in your cabin if it was the heater core. The fact that you have mud at the base would lead me to think you have water leaking in past the lower part of that breather tube.

I guess it would work but you'd need something to make that 90* turn into the firewall. I was thinking plastic tubing, probably wouldn't wear out like that rubber.

wose heater core hoses have 90's to them i think one of the 4 anyway but you would have to cut alot off because there about 20 nches of slack on both sides but i think theyre about 18$ a piece
