I was wondering if anyone has seen a head crack at the AC compressor. Where the top right screw for the AC comp. Connects to the head.

I have been tracking down a leak of antifreeze and found that my water pump inlet hose is leaking at the fitting because I didn't use Teflon tape. But upon finding the leak, I noticed a surface crack at the mounting point for the AC compressor.

It also looks like coolant might be seeping out of it which makes me want to fix this sooner than later.
I just dont want to swap it out and it just be coolant splash from the inlet hose.
Thanks for any help!

I think you're just seeing paint flaking off, I don't see an actual crack. Poke at it a little and see what happens.

Did that, and there is a lip that it catches on that goes along with the coolant traces. Hopefully its just over cast from when they formed the block. I will report back tomorrow after ive fixed the inlet hose. Thanks for looking!

It shouldn't be wet there.

Hmmm, really?

It looks like the wp inlet tube is leaking near the head. You'll need to remove the compressor in order to unscrew the tube off. $11 at NAPA.

You don't need to remove the compressor to remove that tube. You can cut it and just wrench it out.

OP, start with that inlet tube, clean up around the crack and go from there. I see the crack in the picture. Crack is whack. You might be able to get away with JB-welding it to seal it up since it doesn't seem too bad...

Thread sealer works fine too and is what the better tubes come with new. Plumbers pipe dope, Loctite 592 whatever you like or have handy. I usually remove the water pump to R/R because it's easier than removing the compressor and head.
