have you checked the ball joints?
Check every joint and bushing up front (including your steering linkage) and make sure everything is nice and tight, you should not be able to move anything by hand...

Just to throw it out there but check to make sure your weights on your rims arent coming around and hitting anything. Dont know what your set up is but I have seen it happen.

best thing u can do is put it up on stands and have someone turn the wheel...get under there and listen and look carefully....its most likely gonna be a u joint or the track bar binding on the axle end.

Get the rubber off the driveway and push/pull your wheels to check for play. Sometimes a hub bearing going out can make the wheel wobble and pop going around turns. Your trackbar shouldn't move.

My 98 makes the same popping noise. By lying under the front of the vehicle and having my wife turn the wheels back and forth, I found the noise came from the point where the trac bar is connected to the frame on the drivers side. A quick way to test for this is to disconnect the trac bar at the frame and turn your wheels back and forth. If the noise is gone, you've located where the sound is coming from. I tried tightening the hex nut, but it is already as tight as it is going to get. So, I am hoping that replacing my trac bar with fix the problem. If this doesn't do it, I will probably have to look at replacing the bracket on the frame where the trac bar is connected. Maybe the hole in the bracket has become enlarged from wear and tear.
