Did you check the axle and drive shaft u-joints?

droark 06-27-2011 07:38 PM

i dont think so

Does it come from the front or rear...???

Make sure your u-bolts are tight. Check your leaf spring bushings as well. Other than that I would say it's probably a driveshaft u-joint.

Tranny mount.

I actually had a ball joint that did this as well. Just take peek. I figured I'd throw it out there since others all had other good ideas already.

This can go in soooo many directions. I notice in your profile you have a stock XJ. Is this still correct? If so, you could have a bad shock, bad shock mount, cracked leaf spring, tail pipe hitting the shackle or leaf, bad leaf bushings, shackle hitting the frame, and so on and so on. you're gonna have to get under it and start looking for loose components.

I think i have the same as you. It could just be that your rear drums need cleaning. THey might be a little sticky. I was told if i use the canned break cleaner on the 4 little spring in the brake than it should stop that. But if it doesnt than idk sorry
