Have a 96 jeep Cherokee 4.0l 242ci and hats is the best plugs for these engines

Best plug NGK FR5-1,, then the Champion RC12LYC.

No, not for the Cherokee XJ. The plain old Champs are the way to go, But for me I feel NGK are the best.

Auto lite is what I have now and it doesn't seem to run as good

I prefer NGK. If I can't get those I go autolite.

Can't stand that champion crap.

I've been running Autolite 985 for 20 years so I guess I don't know any different.

What does not run as good mean?

My 2000 don't like AutoLite,, I think the waste spark ignition the 2000 has is what the AutoL didn't like.. It would miss sometimes and run a little rough. NGK's fixed that issue for the 2000.
(the 2000 has a coil rail with three coil packs,,one coil pack for two cylinders. That means as one cylinder is firing, the other cylinder on that coil pack is being fired also....but on the exhaust stroke.)

But on the other hand my 95 has no problem with running the AutoL
So hmmm,, I guess run what works for you..
For me Im NGK all the way.

Hmmmm. As always with a spark plug post, 4 different opinions. Buy some and just make sure you gap them properly and don't over tighten them.
