i hear a slight tick noise, its not that loud, and dosent seem like its something too serious. but what would it be? its loudest when i listen under the jeep. also at what temp is a normal operating range for a 4.0 in a 1995 cherokee? the elec. fan dosent work, i have to wire in a new circuit for it. but if i wire it right to the bat. it stays at around 205 or 210 at idle, depending on the temp outside. but with it pluged in, it stays at 200 at idle. thats the hottest it gets tho. it also had a cracked exaust manifold, which is throwing alot of heat, so i dont think thats helping. what do you guys think?

my injectors are a bit noisy/ticky. Alot of 4.0s can run with a slight piston slap for years with no issue. My tj had a tick/knock the whole time I owned it 3 years it was worse when cold.

crack in manifold is not unusual. 210 is good temp. My fan never kicks on until I run defrost or ac. I plan to change that before next summer tho. plenty of threads for that. check jeepforum and naxja for that too. I dont think you can ever get all the "tick" out of the motor but good luck.
