Took everything off the head so I could clean it and after cleaning the valves with a copper wire wheel they are still very pitted. Attached is the best picture I could get with the camera on my phone. Is this common? The valves from the engine I'm replacing looked the same as the one pictured above (the replacement engine from a '95). The intake valves are perfect (after cleaning).

Any recommendations on brand? Anyone ever use Enginetech? There is a set on eBay for $50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/87-98-Jeep-Cherokee-Wrangler-4-0L-L6-6-Exhaust-Valves-/271178537867?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f23801b8b&vxp=mtr.
Or should I look at spending a little more for Sealed Power or Melling brand valves?
