Power door lock/starter lock issue
Im having trouble with the power locks on my 99. Ive got remote keyless entry with one of those start locks that makes a clicking sound all the time (I hate that thing). When I get into my Jeep, I HAVE to hit the unlock button on the fobber to be able to start my Jeep. If not that, then I have to hit the unlock button on the door switch panel.
I havent had any trouble with it since I bought the Jeep in 2002 but the other day, out of the blue, I go to hit the unlock on the fobber and nothing. Normally you can hear it unlock, but this time nothing. Couldnt get it to work so I unlock the door with the key and climb in. I put it in the ignition and nothing, so I hit the unlock on the door switch and still nothing. I go back and forth between lock and unlock and the locks arent doing anything. Then I notice the clicking that comes from the starter lock/alarm or whatever it is, isnt clicking. I keep hitting the fobber and door switch, reach over to the passenger switch, etc., and after a couple minutes of goofing around she starts up. Never got the fobber to work, never got the doors to unlock with it or the switch. Before I go anywhere else I want to make sure this is fixed.
Anyone else had this happen? Am I looking at a fried relay? Control board for the keyless entry? And beyond that, is there anything I can do to bypass this starter lock thing so I dont need to unlock the doors to start her up?
Thanks in advance!

Has a brand new battery as of 2 months ago and have no other issues with it starting, running aux lights, power windows, etc. Just the door locks not working and in turn not able to start her because I cant unlock her.

Is it the anti theft device that makes a 3 click chime when you turn the Jeep off? Sounds like 'do-do do-do do-do'?
Have you refreshed grounds?
I'd bank on a relay or ground. I used to have a similar setup on my other car and the relay went out. It wouldn't engage to allow ignition.

Yes, the fobber has brand new batteries. Even if it didnt, the power lock button on the door would still work.

On my 2001 xj I had to replace the OEM alarm module with fob's , my old alarm would not program to any new key fob's and it would only work with the fob next to the door , there was a guy on ebay that was selling OEM alarm module . you can also use a after market alarm and replace the factory alarm , I have seen write ups and utube video's on this . in some way's I wish I would have replace it with a after market alarm .
