Default PCV valve on '99 XJ

So I posted a video on this forum asking why my XJ made a tapping sound and somebody replied and asked why the PCV valve wasn't hooked up. I'm kind of confused because one of the horses is hooked up, but the other one isnt AMD o dont see any hose to connect to it. I also read online that only older Cherokees (pre '97) have the PCV valve on the valve cover but I see the hoses on it. I'm new to working on jeeps so does anybody have any ideas? Here is the video: https://youtu.be/jf8v-mSAohI

CCV not PCV.

One connects from airbox to valve cover
One connects from intake to valve cover

** EDIT **

I just watched your video and with that hose disconnected your sucking in unfiltered air to the engine which is NOT good. Dirt and debris will get in and THAT will do bad things.
If these are not hooked up.. its not a bad thing, but definitely not a GOOD thing.

Thanks for the reply. So that would hook to the airbox, right? I have my airbox removed since it has a snorkel and it came without any tube on it. If so, ill probably just hook the factory airbox back up and get some tubing just to get it hooked up

Correct. Some people just add one of those small breather filters on and have good luck.

Oh yeah I remember seeing some of them on other XJs I've looked at now. I'll try to pick one up tonight

I just have a breather filter on mine, you can get them from any auto parts store.
