pcm short?

pcm short?
my jeep wouldnt fire, so I changed all the ignition parts, and still nothing. then i got a pcm from a buddy. swapped em out and it fired right up. Then I put my old one back in and it fired up again! wtf? So know I still dont know what the problem is. Could the pcm have a short or something. Or did unpluging it just reset it?
